I just adopted a Chihuahua mix in October, I brought her home October 17, 2013! Her name is Pumpkin, but I call her Mini a lot. Hence my petzy Chi's name! Pumpkin is 8lbs of joy and about 1 yr, 7 months now! She is really my everything.

Aww... she's so cute. ^w^
My grandma lives about 5 miles away from us (me and my parents), and we have a kind of hobby farm out there with 30 or 40 some chickens, +6 cats, and 5 beef cows.

Now, this may sound silly, but I'm being serious...lol...I've never really been around farm animals (beside passing them in a car when driving through farm areas), are the farm chickens and cows friendly? I know said "beef " cows, so I'm not sure if that means they are strictly for that purpose or do they interact with humans as well?

The chickens are friendly, but the hens are skittish if you try to pet them, but there are a few my dad and I hatched from eggs and raised by hand, so those few are tamer than the others. 5 of those chickens are roosters, which is five too many. My mom and I do chores in the morning because my dad works at a school, and we have to carry sticks in case the roosters attack us. The beef cows are friendly, a little skittish, but if they come up to you, then you can pet them. Hope that answers your questions.

Oh, that does answer my questions, thank you! Wow, so you actually raised those little chicks? That's amazing, I remember as a little kid, I always wanted to do that! Haha, I would beg my mom and dad to get me eggs so I could keep them warm and have little babies!
The roosters must be nasty! I know I take my Pumpkin (my real life Chi) to a park where there are a lot of roosters and they aren't scared of anything! They get really close to you and sometimes open their mouths like they are panting or something - I think they may be trying to be dominant? I'm not sure.
It must be so nice to pet the cows too, they seem like really gentle beasts. Not that they couldn't do some serious damage I'm sure, but they are beautiful creatures.

You're welcome! Yes, for a few weeks they lived in a box in our kitchen, then they went out to the garage, then when they're old enough they go to live in a small pen in one of the chicken coops, then finally, once they're big enough, they can be let out to run with the other chickens. The roosters are nasty. A few years ago one of them attacked my mom so she had to put a couple band-aides on her leg, and last summer one of them chased me! But you just have to watch them, and if they run at you, you hit them with your stick. 2 of the cows are less than a year old, so they're smaller than the other three. The 3 bigger ones will be going to the butcher this summer. They can do some damage- in fact, two of them got out of the pasture once!

WOW! Oh my goodness, I can just imagine, well...no, I can't because I never saw it done, but those roosters...!!! That's crazy they mess with you so much!
Oh yeah, I bet those cows could do some serious damage...they must weight over a 1,000 pounds?! That's an insane amount of brute force on a pasture's fence let alone a human!
